Why Are We A King James Bible Only Church?
Most churches care little about which Bible version they use, we believe it is very important.

We are a King James Bible only church. This means that all preaching, teaching, evangelism etc will be given only using the Authorized King James Bible. We reject all modern English ‘bibles’ as corrupt perversions of the scriptures.
Why?
Many accuse the KJ of being archaic and hard to understand. Why would we, as a church, stick to one four hundred year old translation of the Bible when there are multiple modern versions available today that are promoted as far easier to read and understand?
Here's the simple answer: God promised to preserve his words perfectly, without error. We believe God has done that for the English speaking world in the King James Bible. We believe that Satan has been working to overthrow the authority of the word of God since his conversation with Eve in the garden of Eden. One of Satan’s modern day tactics is to produce corrupt ‘bibles’ that undermine the word of God and produce a watered down, weak Christianity that is easily manipulated into compromise and worldliness.
Can we back this position up with scriptural evidence? Yes.
If you are diligent enough to study for yourself the differences between the King James Bible and the modern versions you will see that there are literally thousands of differences. Serious differences. Differences that dilute and soil sound Bible doctrine. Whole passages are deleted or brought into question. Verses are removed while keeping the King James verse numbering system. Words are deleted. Phrases are butchered. Words are added. If you are a born again child of God with the Holy Ghost dwelling inside your heart, seeing these corruptions should cause you to seriously investigate what is going on! Lazy, carnal, compromised, fearful Christians refuse to consider this issue.
There are, in essence, only two English Bibles today, the King James and all the rest. All ‘the rest’ nearly always have the same changes and are very similar in their attack on God's words. They come from corrupt manuscripts and are produced by men that do not believe in the infallible inerrant word of God. Some of the men behind the modern perversions are known to have been involved in occult practices and open denial of fundamental bible doctrine.
Before we look at some examples, let’s consider the Bible doctrine of scriptural purity and preservation. The reason so many Christians get sucked into modern corrupt bibles is their lack of belief in this doctrine. Many are unaware because they have not been taught. Many refuse to believe this because of the upheaval it would bring to their life. But if it is true, and you reject it as a Christian, God will hold you to account.
Many Christians tend to believe that God has preserved the general truth of the Bible, or that God has preserved the theme, message, and teachings of the Bible. Therefore it does not matter too much which version you use so long as it has the general message and truths that God preserved. This is a false, unbiblical position. Because God promised to preserve his words (plural). He did not promise to preserve his truth, doctrines or message but his very words.
Here are some examples of this truth taught in scripture:
Proverbs 30:5 Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.
-How about that! EVERY WORD OF GOD IS PURE.
In case you’re not sure what ‘pure’ means, it is, without any defilement! Something is either pure or it is not pure. There are no ‘degrees of purity’.
If that is the case, why do the modern ‘bibles’ continually change the words of God? Answer: they are not pure, they are corrupt.
Psalm 12:6-7 The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever.
-Here God again tells us that his words are pure. And he promises to preserve them (his words) for ever. So why do the modern versions take liberties, thousands of times, to delete and alter God's words? Answer: they are corrupt.
Matthew 24:35 Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.
-Here Jesus himself told us that the earth and heaven would be gone before his words disappear. Why then do the modern versions literally delete words that Jesus himself spoke? Answer: they are corrupt.
1 Peter 1:23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.
-Here you are told that the word of God is INCORRUPTIBLE. Below you will see multiple examples of the modern versions corrupting the word of God with their perverted translations. If the word is incorruptible, why do the modern versions corrupt it? Answer: they are corrupt.
2 Timothy 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
-Clearly the men that produce the modern 'bibles' do not believe that all scripture, the written words, are given by inspiration of God. Otherwise they would not be altering it at their every whim.
Examples of corruption
I will take just one example of the corrupt modern 'bibles', the New International Version. And compare several verses to the King James so that you can see what is going on. You can look up these references in any of the mainstream modern perversions and you will see the changes are similar throughout. For context I encourage you to look these references up yourself. Don't be lazy, do it!
These examples are just a minute sample of the multitudes of changes.

King James Bible | New International Version | Comment |
Acts 8:37 And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. | [O] | When you look this verse up and see the context, you'll see that by deleting this verse the NIV teaches baptismal regeneration or 'works' salvation. Heresy. |
Matthew 18:11 For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost. | [o] | Uhm, really? they deleted this verse? |
1 John 5:7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. | [o] | Only Satan would have the clearest verse on the doctrine of the Trinity removed. |
Matthew 17:21 Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting. | [o] | Look this up and see what you're missing! |
1 Timothy 3:16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory. | 1 Timothy 3:16 Beyond all question, the mystery from which true godliness springs is great: He appeared in the flesh, was vindicated by the Spirit, was seen by angels, was preached among the nations, was believed on in the world, was taken up in glory. | A clear reference to fact that Jesus Christ is God manifest in the flesh has been destroyed by the NIV |
Luke 4:4 And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God. | Luke 4:4 Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone.’ [o] | What does man live by? |
Matthew 5:22a But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: ... | Matthew 5:22a But I tell you that anyone who is angry with a brother or sister [o] will be subject to judgment. | See the difference? |
Matthew 5:44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; | Matthew 5:44 But I tell you, love your enemies [o] and pray for those who [o] persecute you, | Maybe they're just trying to save on ink and paper in these perversions? |
2 Samuel 21:19 And there was again a battle in Gob with the Philistines, where Elhanan the son of Jaareoregim, a Bethlehemite, slew the brother of Goliath the Gittite, the staff of whose spear was like a weaver's beam. | 2 Samuel 21:19 In another battle with the Philistines at Gob, Elhanan son of Jair the Bethlehemite killed Goliath the Gittite, who had a spear with a shaft like a weaver’s rod. | Who Killed Goliath? |
1 Samuel 6:19 And he smote the men of Bethshemesh, because they had looked into the ark of the LORD, even he smote of the people fifty thousand and threescore and ten men: and the people lamented, because the LORD had smitten many of the people with a great slaughter. | 1 Samuel 6:19 But God struck down some of the inhabitants of Beth Shemesh, putting seventy of them to death because they looked into the ark of the Lord. The people mourned because of the heavy blow the Lord had dealt them. | The NIV people changed this to 70 simply because they did not believe the larger number... |
Psalm 39:5 Behold, thou hast made my days as an handbreadth; and mine age is as nothing before thee: verily every man at his best state is altogether vanity. Selah. | Psalm 39:5 You have made my days a mere handbreadth; the span of my years is as nothing before you. Everyone is but a breath, even those who seem secure. | Are the NIV people covering up their own vanity? |
Ecclesiastes 10:19 A feast is made for laughter, and wine maketh merry: but money answereth all things. | Ecclesiastes 10:19 A feast is made for laughter, wine makes life merry, and money is the answer for everything. | Uhm, really? Maybe these NIV people have a problem with the love of money? (below) |
1 Timothy 6:10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. | 1 Timothy 6:10 For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.
Isaiah 14:12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning!how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! | Isaiah 14:12 How you have fallen from heaven, morning star, son of the dawn! You have been cast down to the earth, you who once laid low the nations! | According to Revelation 22:16, The Lord Jesus Christ is the 'morning star'. The blasphemous NIV addresses Satan, here, as Jesus. Wickedness. |
Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. | Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
Daniel 3:25 He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God. | Daniel 3:25 He said, “Look! I see four men walking around in the fire, unbound and unharmed, and the fourth looks like a son of the gods.” | Here a wonderful reference to the Lord Jesus Christ has been destroyed. |
John 5:4 For an angel went down at a certain season into the pool, and troubled the water: whosoever then first after the troubling of the water stepped in was made whole of whatsoever disease he had. | [o]
John 9:35 Jesus heard that they had cast him out; and when he had found him, he said unto him, Dost thou believe on the Son of God? | John 9:35 Jesus heard that they had thrown him out, and when he found him, he said, “Do you believe in the Son of Man?” | Another example of the NIV belittling the Lord Jesus Christ |
John 14:2 In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. | John 14:2 My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? | The God of the NIV only offers you a room. While the God of the King James has a mansion waiting for believers. |
Mark 16:9-20 -This portion of scripture details the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ... | The NIV has this portion of scripture in separated from the rest, italicized and with a note saying 'the earliest manuscripts and some other ancient witnesses do not have verses 9-20' | Paul warned in his day that there were many corrupting the word of God (2 Cor 2:17). The NIV people have used supposedly 'ancient' (the ancient claim is highly questionable) and most certainly corrupt manuscripts. What does a footnote, like found in the NIV in this example, do for the faith of a child of God? SOW DOUBT!! exactly as Satan designed it to. |
This is only twenty examples. But it should be enough to stir you into some serious investigation. I could have put 100s more examples in this article. Do some research, look into this. You'll see that Satan has pulled the foundation of scripture out from under the modern, Laodicean, lukewarm church. And the preachers are too spineless, or too deceived themselves to take a stand on this issue.
Most Christians will agree that when God first gave his words to the apostles and prophets to put down on paper they were perfect, inerrant, pure. But for some reason many accuse the God who is so powerful that he spoke the world into existence of failing to keep his words preserved over the centuries. What a weak God! if your God is the 'god' of the NIV (or any of the other perversions) your 'god' is weak and incapable.
Think about this: Why did God bother to inspire his words perfectly in the first place if he was not able or did not intend to preserve them?
Think about this: The apostle Paul literally warned about men 'corrupting' the words of God in his epistle to the Corinthians (2 Corinthians 2:17). Why would that warning not be applicable to the church today?? - You'll have to look that verse up in the KJ as it has been defiled in the perversions to cover their tracks.
Think about this: Satan's first recorded words are 'yea hath God said ... ?'. The theme of the modern version 'bibles' is in line with Satan's objective: causing YOU to doubt what God said, and thus disobey Gods words. The perversions are filled with little footnotes and comments disparaging and casting doubt on the veracity, purity, and inerrancy of scripture.
If you're a Christian and you've read this far there's a high possibility you're offended. Don't be. The Bible says: Great peace have they which love thy law: and nothing shall offend them. (Ps 119:165) Instead of getting offended, search the matter out for yourself!
The King James Bible commands you to study, the perversions don't (2 Tim 2:15).
I'll sign off here. As you may have guessed, this issue is one I am passionate about. God has blessed us with his perfect, pure, holy Bible. But Satan has deceived the church into using corrupt 'bibles' and thus missing out on the wonders and the riches of the HOLY Bible.
